Let’s go back at the Rendez-Vous 2024 !
This past weekend marked the 2024 edition of the Rendez-Vous, the magic convention orchestrated by the entire Magic Dream team, held at the Magic Hotel Disney, conveniently located near Disneyland Park.
I firmly believe that a magic convention bears resemblance to a wedding in its emphasis on the ambiance cultivated by the participants. It eventually all comes down to the atmosphere the guests have decided to creat !You could have the most exquisite catering and an opulent venue, but if your attendees lack enthusiasm and arrive dragging their feet, the event will never get off the ground. What sets Magic Dream apart is its adeptness at fostering an atmosphere that is both celebratory and intimate, where everyone feels welcome and heard.
Foremost among the convention’s strengths was the warmth and professionalism exhibited by the entire team. The Magic Dream staff were ever-present, approachable, and readily available. There’s nothing more disheartening than a team solely focused on sales, neglecting personal interactions. How many times have you seen crew members coming up to you only to sell you items, but passing by your table at breakfast, ignoring you superbly. This ethos was exemplified in Guillaume BiennĂ©’s (co-manager of Magic Dream) lecture and show, where he sought camaraderie over mere performance. He simply took to the stage with the aim of having a good time with all his friends, rather than simply wanting to put on a show and then leave.
Additionally, the caliber of performers was exceptional. Though there were only six official acts, each magician showcased a unique and mesmerizing style, catering to diverse preferences. From Taha Mansour’s stage mentalism to Kimoon Do’s technical and comedic close-up magic, and Markobi’s insightful character-building advice, there was something for every spectator.
Lastly, the convention facilitated magical encounters. A successful convention is one from which you leave with many new friends, and a head full of ideas. In this aspect as well, I departed thoroughly satisfied!
See you next year folks !
